Botox Injections
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox® Cosmetic, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet around the eyes and thick bands in the neck. If you are considering Botox in Scottsdale, Dr. Sean Lille’s office provides this effective wrinkle-reduction option.
Along with reducing age lines, Botox is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating in areas like the armpits, and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.

How Does Botox Work?
Fine age lines are the result of the stiff contracted facial muscles beneath them. People tend to make the same facial movements repeatedly over the years, and this leads to contracted muscles. It becomes harder for the muscles of the face to relax into a neutral position. The contracted facial muscles cause the skin to bunch into wrinkles.
The Botox toxin blocks the nerve impulses to these muscles, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles in order to let these muscles relax. This leads to a reduction in wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance.
Good Candidates for Botox
The best candidates for Botox injections are those who are looking for a non-surgical solution to shallow age lines and vertical neck bands. Botox Cosmetic, an Allergan product, can address horizontal forehead lines, vertical frown lines between the brows, chin wrinkles, crows feet, smoker’s lines around the lips, bunny lines, jawline sag, and more.
Ideal Botox candidates are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding, do not have any active skin infections in the treatment area, and are not allergic to Botox’s ingredients. Ideal candidates have realistic expectations – view our Botox before and after photos to see what Botox can do for you.
For those looking to resolve under eye bags and moderate and deep wrinkles near the mouth and cheek region, a dermal filler is the best injectable option. Numerous dermal fillers are available at our office.
The Treatment Session
Botox Cosmetic treatment sessions are quite simple and only take around 20 minutes. Marks are made on the skin above the targeted muscle groups to serve as a guide for the injector. Either topical or local anesthetic is then administered to create temporary numbing and ensure comfort.
Once the numbing is complete, the injector delivers the Botox injections into the marked regions. The number of units used will depend on the targeted wrinkles.
After Your Session
No Botox recovery process of any kind is required after a treatment session. Because of this, this treatment is a convenient option for busy professionals and can even be administered during one’s lunch break.
A minor amount of bruising and swelling may appear in the injected regions. These will disappear shortly. Prolonged sun exposure is not recommended for a time after the treatment.
After about seven to ten days, the full effects of this injectable will be evident in the form of smoother and more youthful skin. These effects will be present for around three to four months. To maintain the effects, it will be necessary to return for a follow-up maintenance treatment session.
Botox Cost
The number of units used for your Botox treatment and the number of treatment sessions scheduled will determine your Botox cost. For those worrying about the price of this injectable, Alphaeon Credit financing may be available. You can find out more about your options during a consultation.
